Service experiences provide a context for bringing Jews together from all backgrounds, allowing them to learn from each other, and gain a broader understanding of the global Jewish community while doing something beneficial for the community. COJP is seeking to fund community service or social action programs (one-time, episodic or ongoing) that begin / take place during the month of Cheshvan (Oct. 23-Nov. 21), which in 2005 was declared Jewish Social Action Month. The Commission’s overarching goal for funding these initiatives is to use social action and community service as a means of bridging diversity and uniting Jews around the world as an inspired, caring, global community.
