Director of Development, Panim, Washington D.C.

One of the fastest growing and most innovative Jewish organizations in America, is seeking an outstanding professional to serve as its director of development.

The candidate should have at least 4-7 years experience with some combination of annual fundraising, solicitation of major gifts and planned giving. Experience with the Jewish federation system or Jewish organizations on the national level will be a great asset. A familiarity with Washington DC and the surrounding vicinity would be very important. The candidate must have a track record of creating efficient and effective management and administrative systems. The person must passionately share the client’s mission centered in Jewish learning, values and social responsibility, and be able to share that mission with board members, potential donors and organizational stakeholders. The person will be able to represent the organization around the country, in communities and at national gatherings. The successful candidate will need to be able to work closely with an active board of trustees to fully engage them in the work of the agency. They will staff a variety of board committees and also play a role in recruiting new trustees from around the country. Strong writing skills are essential. The director of development will oversee a development associate and several recent college graduates who support the agency’s development efforts. Candidates will be required to write a personal statement of 2-3 pages about why they believe they are suitable for the position.
