Million Voices for Darfurremote website

The Save Darfur Coalition, in cooperation with over 150 faith-based, advocacy, and humanitarian aid organizations, is pleased to announce the launch of the Million Voices for Darfurremote website campaign. We believe that while the problems of Darfur are complex, the formula for solving those problems is simple: President Bush, his Administration, and Congress must make ending the genocide in Darfur a top priority. The Million Voices for Darfurremote website campaign will help millions of Americans make their voices heard, and make their government listen. We need your help, however, to make the Million Voices campaign a success.

Please click hereremote website to send an electronic postcard to President Bush. Regular postcards are also available if you would like to distribute them personally. Click hereremote website to view the design and to order postcards.

In the coming months, the campaign will collect one million of these hand-written and electronic postcards from Americans demanding that the United States government act in support of a stronger multinational force to protect the civilians of Darfur. The postcards will be collected in local communities and on college campuses, at houses of worship and over the Internet. The Coalition will then deliver Americans’ messages to the White House and Capitol Hill, using the campaign to draw national and local media attention to the Darfur crisis. In conjunction with the campaign, the Save Darfur Coalition is also organizing a speaking tour for Captain Brian Steidle, USMC, who served as the U.S. representative to the African Union’s mission in Darfur. Captain Steidle was an eyewitness to the genocide, is a powerful and compelling speaker, and will help Americans grasp the reality – and the enormity – of the crisis in Darfur. The Coalition will also promote other events featuring Darfur experts and eyewitnesses in its speakers’ bureau.

If you would like to move your advocacy to the next level, please join us by organizing a Darfur related eventremote website, or by joining or starting a Darfur advocacy groupremote website in your community . To help you with your event, we offer post cards, Save Darfur bracelets, videos, and a special Million Voices DVD (available soon) among other Darfur advocacy items, available hereremote website.

The strength of the Coalition, and of the Million Voices campaign, is the breadth and diversity of Darfur advocates such as you who lend your strength to our message. Thank you for paying attention to the crisis in Darfur, and for taking the time to take action to end it. For more information and to sign an electronic post card, please visit www.MillionVoicesForDarfur.orgremote website. With your help, we can all make the Million Voices for Darfur campaign the success it needs to be.
